I only sell on Amazon. Doesn't Amazon handle this?
Amazon collects and remits VAT on part of your B2C sales, but that does not remove your own registration duties once you hold stock in a country. For EPR the obligation sits with you as the producer: Amazon's role is to check that you have a number, not to obtain one for you.
Am I a “producer”?
You are if you manufacture a product sold in an EU country, import it into a country where you are established, or sell it into a country where you are not established. Reselling and dropshipping make no difference. If your supplier is already registered, their identifier can serve as proof — provided they give it to you.
How long does a French VAT number take?
A few weeks from a complete file, longer if the tax office asks for translations or extra proof of activity. EPR identifiers are faster, often days once categories and volumes are settled.
Is one registration enough for the whole of Europe?
No, and it is the most expensive misconception. National registers are not synchronised and marketplaces no longer accept a single identifier across countries. You need one registration per category, per destination country.
I've sold for two years with no EPR identifier. What now?
You register, and you declare the past. Schemes generally expect back-declarations rather than applying penalties to sellers who come forward. It is a much cheaper conversation to have before an account block than after one.
Which countries do you cover?
France directly. Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden and the Czech Republic through partner firms we manage, with a single point of contact and one invoice. The United Kingdom too: UK VAT (HMRC) and UK EPR obligations.
What does it cost?
A fixed monthly fee based on your marketplaces, categories and volumes, plus one-off registration fees. You get the full figure in writing after the first call, before any work starts.
